ABIA is already developing projects and / or partnerships in these three fields.[/vc_column_text][dt_gap height=”10″][dt_gap height=”10″][vc_tabs interval=”0″ style=”tab-style-one”][vc_tab title=”MSM” tab_id=”1402535625-2-60″][vc_column_text]In the MSM community, for example, projects began in 1993 with the creation of Homosexuality Project. Since then a series of sessions have been conducted, (including thematic workshops, interventions in social spaces such as gay clubs, saunas, beaches, etc.) and materials produced (research, educational materials, films, etc.) on behalf of this population. In its work with the MSM population, ABIA’s project staff has made sure to focus on the stigmas and discrimination associated with non-sexual normativity and gender identity that follows this community. Currently, ABIA is developing the project “Sexual Diversity, Health and Rights of Young People,” supported by the MAC AIDS Fund. This project is a continuation of the program started in 1993, returning the focus to issues related to sexual diversity and HIV/AIDS among young gay men, men who have sex with men (MSM), lesbian, transgender and other vulnerable groups. The project consists of a mixed group of young people in relation to their HIV status, gender identity, sexuality, religion and educational level who are at stages in life to organize and carry out projects in communities and places where they live and/or socialize. A major feature of this project is to promote citizenship and invite young people to reflect on the policies which have a major influence on their lives.[/vc_column_text][/vc_tab][vc_tab title=”Sex workers” tab_id=”1402535803378-2-6″][vc_column_text]ABIA is already researching and developing projects, in partnership with the NGO Davida, LeMetro, IFCS, and IPPUR-UFRJ entitled “Prostitution, Civil Rights and Health and the Centre for Prostitution.” The goal is to promote a qualified debate on prostitution, mobilization, human rights, citizenship and HIV policy. Strategies include dialogues, seminars, case studies, debates and a national mapping of violations of rights of prostitutes and approaches for addressing them. The other partners in these goals are the Archives of the State of Rio
